How this works
Every course listed on Barber Courses is tied to the town or city where it is actually taught. When you tap Use my location, your browser asks your permission to share a rough position, we measure the straight-line distance from there to each of those towns and cities, and we sort the list. Your position is used for that one calculation and then discarded. We do not store it, log it or pass it on.
The distances are deliberately described as approximate. They are measured to the centre of the town or city, not to the door of the school, so treat the ordering as a shortlist rather than a route. Once something looks promising, open the listing and use the provider’s own address and contact details.
If you would rather not share a location
You do not have to. Every course on the site is also reachable by country and by city from the home page, and the search box at the top of the site will match a school by name, town or qualification. Declining the location prompt does not hide anything from you.
What “verified” means here
A course only appears on this site once we have checked the provider against something outside its own marketing: a national training register, an awarding body’s approved-centre list, a state board of barbering, or the relevant ministry of education. Schools we could not confirm that way were removed rather than left in place to pad the numbers out. That is why some towns and even some countries come back empty. An empty page is an honest answer, and we say so on the page itself.

Barbering is a licensed trade in many countries, and the legal route into it is often narrower than the marketing suggests. If the nearest verified course is a long way off, it is worth reading the country page for where you live before you travel: it sets out the national route, the body that regulates it, and whether an apprenticeship or an in-salon route exists alongside the classroom one.
