Barbados
Barbados has two genuinely good barbering routes and a striking price difference between them. BarberCourses.com lists 2 providers here. The public routeThe Barbados Vocational Training Board, the state vocational authority, runs Barbering (Beginners) over twelve weeks on Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30, at 390 Barbados dollars, with a named instructor and a published start date. It is framed as suitable for either personal or professional application, so it works whether you are testing the trade or entering it, and applications go through the national education portal. At that price from the national body it is comfortably the best value in the region. Note the page does not state a TVET Council CVQ award, so treat it as a Board course rather than assuming a CVQ.The private routeBrothers Barber School has operated since 1993 and runs a 24-week, 120-hour Professional Barbering Certificate combining online theory with a five-hour weekly practical session and an optional eight-hour weekly internship, a format built for people already working. Its ten modules include an explicit focus on Afro-Caribbean and mixed hair types, which is exactly right for the market and better addressed here than in most general courses. The certificate is the school’s own and fees are not published.
