Chile

Chile has a well-developed private barbering market with unusually transparent pricing. BarberCourses.com lists 4 providers here, three in Santiago and one in Viña del Mar.SENCE is the thing to ask aboutChile has a real mechanism for publicly fundable training: accreditation as an OTEC under the national standard, which brings training within reach of SENCE funding. Only one of the four providers here claims it, and even there the barbering course itself advertises only a notarised private certificate rather than a funded qualification, two different things worth separating before you enrol. The other three make no accreditation claim at all, which at least is honest. What it costsPrices are published openly, which makes comparison straightforward. A short 45-hour beginner course runs around 250,000 to 300,000 pesos. Structured ladders run from about 319,000 pesos for one month to 1,100,000 for four. A four-month initial course on a monthly plan runs about 150,000 pesos a month plus matriculation. Short specialisation seminars of two to five days sit around 160,000 to 230,000 pesos and are often the better purchase if you are already working and want to fix one specific weakness. Class sizes are small, one academy caps every course at ten students.
