Slovakia
Slovakia has a small barbering market with one genuinely state-accredited programme in it. BarberCourses.com lists 2 providers here, both in Bratislava.Accreditation is the dividing lineKaderník is a regulated trade in Slovakia, and private courses can be accredited by the education ministry, an accredited programme issues a state-recognised certificate, while everything else is an in-house document. Of the two providers here, one holds a published ministry accreditation number and delivers its 350-hour course in partnership with a public secondary vocational school of hairdressing, so students train in a proper school environment and leave with a recognised certificate. The other is a barbershop chain’s academy issuing its own certificate, with the compensating advantage that strong graduates are offered jobs in the chain. Both are legitimate; they are simply different products, and the price difference reflects that.A note on this listThree entries were removed, and two of them illustrate a pattern worth knowing about. One academy’s page now redirects to its barbershop homepage with no training content at all, and its supporting article returns not-found; another’s domain redirects to a rebuilt site offering barbershop and massage services with no academy anywhere on it. In both cases search engines still serve the old academy page titles, so a title-based check would have passed them. The third was a duplicate, the same accredited course, same number, same venue and same instructor as one already listed, on an older domain that has stopped being updated.
