Accademia Barbieri
Accademia Barbieri operates from Via Pieve Ligure in Rome and is the barbering brand of Accademia Genesis, a school founded in 1989 and accredited by Regione Lazio under Determina G09499 of July 2022, the two share one address and one operation.
What it actually sells under the Barbieri name, though, is short private tuition rather than the regional qualification. The Corso Barber Individuale is six one-to-one lessons of roughly two hours each, about twelve hours in total, with dates arranged to suit the student. It has been promoted at 800 euros against a list price of 1,200, including a barber kit and a practice head. Content covers comb-and-scissor cutting, clipper and trimmer fading, beard shaving, fade sculpting, hairline definition and tool sterilisation, worked on practice heads and live models. Group courses and workshops also run. Be clear that these short courses carry no stated certificate, the parent school’s regional accreditation attaches to its longer qualifying programmes, not to a twelve-hour private course.
A note on Italian credentials that matters more here than anywhere else in Europe. Hairdressing is a regulated trade under Law 174/2005, and to work as an acconciatore or barbiere you need a regional qualifica professionale with abilitazione, typically a multi-year regionally accredited course. A private academy’s attestato, however good the teaching, does not confer that right. Foreign awarding-body approvals do not either, whatever the marketing says.
