Alberta Barber Academy - Barber School

Alberta Barber Academy runs an in-person barbering school on 106 Street in downtown Edmonton. Its core credential is the Foundation Certificate, a 530-hour programme offered in three formats: 14 weeks of day classes, Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm; 18 weeks of evening classes, Monday to Thursday from 4.30 pm to 8 pm; or 20 weeks of weekend classes. The academy states the certificate meets Alberta’s apprenticeship and industry training requirements. The first term covers theory and mannequin work; the second moves to live models.

A Masters Certificate adds eight weeks for Foundation graduates and includes a four-week internship and apprenticeship support. A six-week Boot Camp is offered as non-certificate practice in cutting and fading for those exploring the trade. The academy also provides written and practical exam preparation and assistance with apprenticeship placement and Alberta trades applications.
