Alen’s Barber School, Sarajevo

Alen’s Barber School in the Hrasno district of Sarajevo was founded in 2024 as, by its own account and local press coverage, the first barbering academy in the city. It runs from a chain of four Sarajevo barbershops and has trained more than fifty people across its programmes.

The main course runs three months, five days a week, in six defined phases, a clearer structure than most schools at this level publish. Phase one covers theory, basic tools, communication, client service and hair washing. Phase two covers geometry and mannequin practice. Phase three works through cutting technique: straight, layered, graduation, redirection and concave. Phase four moves to traditional men’s cutting on live models. Phase five is fades, low, mid, high and burst. Phase six covers current styles including the mullet, modern cut and wolf cut. Advanced sessions run as single days, multi-day blocks or one-to-one.

The first cohort started in January 2025 and a second in September that year with ten students. No certificate is mentioned on either the main or the education site, and no price is published, so ask about both.
