Allstate Hairstyling & Barber College
Allstate Hairstyling and Barber College has operated on Lorain Avenue in Cleveland since 1961. It offers an 1,800-hour barber program for students who do not hold a current barber or cosmetology license, and a 1,000-hour barber crossover program for cosmetologists already licensed in Ohio. The curriculum is built to meet Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board requirements and prepares students to sit for the barber licensing exam; the college reports that every 2024 graduate who took the state barber exam passed it.
Instruction covers barbering theory and practical technique alongside the business skills needed to run a shop or work as a barber instructor, with clinic-floor practice on a diverse clientele. The college is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences and is licensed by the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board. Its student salon serves the public Tuesday through Saturday.
