American Barber School by Serious Barber, Saint-Raphaël
A location correction first, because it matters if you were planning to travel: this school trains in Saint-Raphaël in the Var, not in Marseille. The Marseille page is a city-targeted landing page and there is no Marseille site. The two are around 130 kilometres apart.
The course is a three-day, 22-hour barbering formation covering men’s cutting and beard work, leading to a France Compétences registered title in trimming and maintaining the beard. Day one is theory, covering fade and beard demonstration, the manual, tooling, face-shape analysis and hygiene; days two and three are practical, working on real clients in working barbershops rather than on mannequin heads. Groups are capped at five. The fee is 1,800 euros including tax, payable in three or four interest-free instalments, with assessment by real-situation practical. Materials are provided. The school holds Qualiopi certification, which is what makes it eligible for CPF, OPCO, FAFCEA, France Travail and regional funding, the meaningful French credential. One caution: the certification number advertised on the site expired in February 2024, and while a live successor registration exists under the same title, confirm which registration your course sits under before claiming funding.
