ANKO Academy – Barbering, Kos and Rhodes
A location correction first: ANKO is a Dodecanese school with campuses in Kos and Rhodes, not Athens as older directory data recorded. It is an accredited lifelong learning centre and its barbering provision is a full academic year running November to May, substantially more than the short seminars that dominate Greek barber training.
Workshop content covers men’s styling, Free Hand, Twist Cut and Slide Cut techniques, wet shaving, facial care, moustache maintenance, tool sterilisation, and barbershop organisation and marketing. The theory side is broader than most: English, client-communication psychology, basic dermatology, IT and business management alongside hygiene and safety. The academy is straightforward about what the qualification does and does not do, graduates sit EOPPEP examinations for the recognised barber diploma, and it states plainly that the professional licence additionally requires 24 months of proven working experience. Enrolments for the current year are open with an early-enrolment discount advertised. No price is published.
On Greek credentials: private training bodies are licensed either as an IEK/ΣAEK or as a KΔBM lifelong learning centre, and a published licence number is the signal worth looking for. The professional barber licence itself comes through EOPPEP examination and generally requires documented working experience alongside the qualification. A course certificate on its own is not the licence.
