Atlanta Beauty & Barber Academy

Atlanta Beauty and Barber Academy is on Buford Highway NE in Doraville, Georgia, northeast of Atlanta. Its Master Barber program consists of 1,500 clock hours, the amount the school states is required for licensure in Georgia, and covers haircutting, coloring, trimming, shaving and styling along with business topics such as salon operations, client retention, resume writing and job searching. Classes run Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., so both day and evening attendance are possible.

Alongside barbering the academy offers master cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology and instructor training, plus continuing education courses delivered online. State board training is scheduled weekly and job placement assistance is provided. The academy holds institutional accreditation from the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences. A student clinic floor serves the public Tuesday through Friday.
