Barbados Vocational Training Board – Barbering (Beginners)
This is the best-documented single entry in the whole of this directory’s African and Caribbean listings, and it comes from the state vocational training authority itself on a government domain.
Barbering (Beginners) runs twelve weeks, Thursday evenings from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, starting late September, at a fee of 390 Barbados dollars. The instructor is named on the course page. The course covers cutting and styling hair to a professional standard, framed as suitable for either personal or professional application, so it works whether you are testing the trade or entering it. Teaching is at the C. Lomer Alleyne Skills Training Centre, with the Board’s head office at Lawrence Green House on Culloden Road.
Applications go through the national education portal, selecting the Board as the target institution, and a valid working email is required for validation. Note that this specific evening course does not state a TVET Council CVQ award on its page, so treat it as a Board course rather than assuming a CVQ. Worth asking if the Caribbean qualification is what you want. At this price from the national body, it is comfortably the best value in the region.
