BarbarossA Academy (Moscow, St Petersburg, Kazan)

BarbarossA is a barbershop franchise chain with more than 27 of its own salons, and its academy teaches under one programme delivered in Moscow, St Petersburg and Kazan. The Moscow site is at Kirova 9k2 near Zhulebino metro; the other cities publish phone numbers rather than addresses. This entry covers all three, since the academy runs one curriculum from a single organisation rather than separate campuses.

The course, Barber from Scratch, comes in three formats: full time at 120 academic hours over 20 days, a weekend format at 90 hours, and an evening format at 90 hours. Module content covers fades, beard grooming and shaving; colour basics, lightening, platinum and grey coverage; foundational technique including lines, graduation and layering; taper fade and crop; and clipper-blade work, flat top and fading. Graduates leave with a portfolio of at least ten photographs of their work and a prepared CV, and the chain hires from its own graduates. On pricing, read the advertised figure carefully: the headline monthly number is an instalment payment, not the course price, and the total is not published. The published intake dates carry no year and appear to be recycled, so confirm current dates directly.

One point applies to every Russian provider in this directory. The meaningful distinction here is whether a school holds an obrazovatelnaya litsenziya, an education licence. A licensed school can issue a state-recognised udostoverenie o povyshenii kvalifikatsii or a diplom o professionalnoy perepodgotovke, while an unlicensed one can only issue its own certificate. Not one of the schools listed here publishes a licence number. Where you see the words “diplom” or “international certificate” used in their marketing, treat them as in-house documents, because that is what they are.
