Barber Academy

The Barber Academy operates on West Golf Road in Schaumburg, Illinois, and offers four clock-hour programs, each leading to a diploma. The main Barber Course runs 1,500 hours and takes roughly ten months at full-time attendance, with students scheduling 20 to 40 hours per week. A Barber-Teacher Course requires 1,000 hours, reduced to 500 hours for applicants licensed three years or more. Licensed cosmetologists can take a 500-hour barber cross-training course, and a 250-hour refresher course serves students with expired licenses, those transferring from another state, and those who have failed the Illinois examination three times.
