BJ's Beauty & Barber College

BJ’s Beauty and Barber College operates two campuses in Washington State, with the Puyallup location on Meridian East and the main campus on South Tacoma Way in Tacoma. The college offers clock-hour programs in barbering, cosmetology, esthetics, manicuring and instructor training, with barbering listed at 1,000 clock hours.

Training combines classroom theory with supervised practical work on clients, covering haircutting, shaving and styling, sanitation, health and safety, customer service, salon management, state law and professional ethics. Students who complete their required hours and chapter examinations become eligible to sit for the Washington State Board examination, which requires passing scores on both the written and practical sections. The college is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences and is licensed by the State of Washington.
