Brothers Barber School – Professional Barbering Certificate, Barbados

Brothers Barber School has operated since 1993 and runs the most substantial barbering programme in the Caribbean listings: a Professional Barbering Certificate of 24 weeks and 120 total hours.

The format is well suited to people already working. It combines online theory with a five-hour weekly practical session, plus an optional eight-hour weekly internship for those who want shop-floor volume. Ten modules cover the history of barbering, hair analysis, Afro-Caribbean and straight hair techniques, beard grooming, client consultation and business management, with an explicit focus on Afro-Caribbean and mixed hair types, which is exactly right for the market and better addressed here than in most general courses. It is open to all skill levels and taught in English, with lectures, quizzes and self-assessment. Current enrolment is shown at 80 students.
