CADMEN Barber Academy

CADMEN Barber Academy is the training arm of the CADMEN barbershop group and runs from Queen Street West in Toronto, with in-person classes also offered in Mississauga. Training is barbering-specific and split between self-paced online courses and short in-person sessions, aimed at beginners, working barbers, barbershop owners and parents wanting to cut hair at home.

The in-person training is a two-day format with flexible dates, covering fade types, outlining and taper techniques across hair textures, head anatomy and face shape analysis, and straight razor safety, loading and beard work. Instruction is one-to-one or small group and adjusted to the student’s level. Graduates receive a certificate of completion plus access to the online academy. The academy states plainly that it is not a government career college, so the training is skills upgrading rather than a route to provincial certification or the Ontario hairstylist apprenticeship.
