Career Schools of Texas (formerly Texas Barber College)

Career Schools of Texas, formerly Texas Barber College, offers a 1,000-hour Barber program at four campuses: Dallas South on South Lancaster Road, Dallas Northeast on Ferguson Road, Houston Southwest on South Gessner Road, and Houston North on the North Freeway. Coursework combines theory with hands-on practice and covers haircutting and hairstyling, shaving, skin care, the history of barbering, safety and sanitation, and business management.

Students must take and pass the state written and practical examinations administered through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to obtain licensure, and the school directs applicants to that department for current requirements. The institution states that it is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education and is applying for reaffirmation of that accreditation. Barbering and an HVAC-R technician program are its two program offerings.
