Carlsens Barber Academy

Carlsens Barber Academy on Søndergade in Odense runs a nine-month intensive barbering programme and is the most substantial private barber training in Denmark. It publishes a dated intake calendar running into 2027, which is a good sign that the schedule is real rather than decorative.

The main programme covers an introduction to barbering, equipment and hair theory, cutting technique and fades, beard trimming and grooming, hair biology, customer communication and advanced barbershop technique, with practical work on models and on paying clients. Confirmed starts include March 2026 in Odense, September and December 2026 in Aarhus and October 2026 in Copenhagen, with a further Copenhagen site planned for 2027, though only Odense is an established address, so confirm the venue for any non-Odense cohort. The programme price is not published. Single-day courses run 09:00 to 16:00 in Odense at published prices including VAT: 3,000 kroner for most subjects, from classic cutting, fades, skin and taper fades through to Asian, afro and curly hair and a social media day; 3,500 kroner for full beard and for skin and taper fade; 4,500 kroner for the old-school cut; and 2,000 kroner for a youth fade course. Refunds are available up to ten days before a course. The award is the academy’s own certificate following an examination. Danish hairdressing proper is entered through the EUD apprenticeship and svendebrev, and this is not that route.
