CEN – Curso de Barbeiro
CEN is an established Portuguese professional school with four staffed centres, Lisbon on Avenida D. Carlos I, its head office in Odivelas, plus Porto and Funchal, and its Curso de Barbeiro is the shortest of the certified Portuguese routes at 225 hours.
The breakdown is published in full: washing and drying at 25 hours, men’s hair cutting techniques at 100, beard and moustache design at 25, beard and moustache cutting techniques at 25, and fashion trends at 50. The weighting towards cutting technique, nearly half the course, makes this a good fit if what you want is cutting hours rather than a broad salon-skills grounding. The school is DGERT certified with the certificate issued through the SIGO platform, and scholarship applications are open. Neither the price nor the start dates are published, so both need establishing by enquiry; the school runs distinct phone lines for each centre, so contact the one you would attend.
On Portuguese credentials: the meaningful mark is DGERT certification of the training body, with the certificate then registered on the SIGO platform and, at best, built from Catálogo Nacional de Qualificações module codes. All four Portuguese providers here claim DGERT, but none publishes a certification number, so every one of those claims is self-asserted, ask for the number.
