College of Hair Design

College of Hair Design operates two campuses in Lincoln, Nebraska, and offers barbering at its downtown location on South 11th Street. The barbering program is 1,800 clock hours completed over about 12 months, and the school states it prepares students for the Nebraska State Barber Board exam. Coursework covers clipper cutting, razor work, hot lather shaving, beard design, chemical services, hair coloring and perming, along with manicuring, facials, scalp massage and business management.

Licensed Nebraska cosmetologists can instead enroll in the Barber Arts Dual License Program, listed at 826 hours and roughly six months. The school also offers an 1,800-hour cosmetology program and a 600-hour esthetics program, and uses Pivot Point curriculum as a Legacy partner. College of Hair Design is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.
