Cut Above Academy

Cut Above Academy delivers the New Zealand Certificate in Commercial Barbering at Level 4 from a campus on Queen Street in central Auckland, with an on-site salon and barbershop where students work on real clients. The course runs 32 weeks full time. Domestic students pay published tuition of $10,977 plus a $410 student services levy and around $1,000 in course-related costs; international tuition is $26,000 plus about $2,000 in costs. Content covers scissor and clipper cutting, beard and moustache shaping, cut-throat shaving, contemporary men’s cutting and men’s colouring, supplemented by guest speakers and industry tours. Intakes run roughly every six months.
