Dayton Barber College

Dayton Barber College offers two programs. The Barber and Stylist program is 1,800 clock hours and is intended for students with no prior barbering background; the college states it gives students the tools needed to pass the state licensure exam. A second program, Barber and Stylist for Licensed Cosmetologists, is 1,000 clock hours and builds on an existing cosmetology license with an emphasis on men’s grooming techniques and servicing male clients.

Training combines classroom theory with practical lab work and a student clinic where students perform services on real clients at individual workstations. The college is licensed as a barber school by the Ohio State Barber Board and is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences. It serves the Miami Valley area from its location in Miamisburg, Ohio.
