Delmar College Red Deer Campus

Delmar College’s Red Deer campus sits on 49 Street, with a second esthetics building nearby. The campus offers a 525-hour Barbering Diploma alongside a 1,400-hour hairstyling diploma, clinical and professional esthetics, nail technology and a range of short certificate courses. In Red Deer the barbering diploma is delivered on an extended part-time schedule running Tuesday to Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm; the same 525-hour diploma runs full-time over roughly three months at the college’s Calgary campus.

The curriculum covers high, mid and low fades, pompadour, crew and tapered cuts, beard design, hot shaves and grooming treatments, together with theory in infection control, anatomy, product chemistry and barbershop operations. The college states the programme prepares students for Alberta government licensing examinations, and separately offers online theory preparation for the barber qualification exam.
