Deutsche Friseur-Akademie – Barbershop Seminare, Neu-Ulm

The Deutsche Friseur-Akademie runs from its Friseur-Campus in Neu-Ulm and is the most substantial German provider in this directory. Its Handwerkskammer connection is real rather than decorative: it runs Friseurmeister and Friseurtrainer preparation programmes and operates a Friseurmeisterschule, and the barbering trainer is a Friseurmeisterin holding the Bachelor Professional qualification.

Four barbering-relevant day seminars run within a catalogue of more than twenty courses. Barbershop Exclusive is 345 euros, Next Level Barbering 365 euros, Skin Fade Cut 345 euros and Fade Cut Variations 365 euros, with a related men’s trend cutting and consultation seminar at 365 euros. All run as a single day from 09:00 to around 16:00. The Barbershop Exclusive content covers beard shaping with scissors and clippers, perfecting contours with the razor, hot and cold compresses, facial massage, facial hair removal by waxing, and product and tool selection. Fees include materials, lunch and soft drinks, but you must bring your own model. These are aimed at qualified hairdressers, Gesellen and Meister, rather than beginners, and the seminars themselves award the academy’s own certificate rather than a chamber qualification.

A note on German credentials, because the labels mislead. Friseur is a regulated Handwerk trade and running a salon requires a Meisterbrief, but Barbier is not a separate recognised trade and there is no Barbier Ausbildung. So German barbering training is essentially all continuing professional development: private seminars issuing their own certificates, or courses run through a Handwerkskammer-linked or guild-linked academy. Neither route leads to a Gesellenbrief or a Meisterbrief, and a certificate calling you a “Master Barber” confers no legal standing whatsoever.
