Eikonic Academy of Barbering and Beauty

Eikonic Academy of Barbering and Beauty operates on Burnhamthorpe Road West in Mississauga and states that it is registered as a career college under the Ontario Career Colleges Act. It offers three diploma streams: a Barbering Major, a Hairstyling Major, and a Double Major combining the two.

The barbering diploma runs 40 weeks and 1,500 hours over two semesters. The first 20 weeks pair three days a week on site with two days online, covering cutting, barber scissor work, fades, chemical services and business fundamentals. The second 20 weeks are spent full time on the clinic and salon floor with real clients, adding dispensary and salon operations and services such as straight razor shaving. Programme hours count toward the Ontario hairstylist apprenticeship; graduates who complete the apprenticeship and pass the provincial certifying exam receive a Certificate of Qualification from Skilled Trades Ontario.
