Gellei Fodrásziskola

Gellei Fodrásziskola teaches from a basement studio on Villányi út in the eleventh district of Budapest and runs a ten to twelve month barbering programme with rolling intakes rather than fixed cohorts.

The price structure is a 100,000 forint registration fee plus 80,000 forint a month in interest-free instalments. Content covers classical and modern men’s cutting, machine and razor shaving, beard shaping and beard colouring, hair colouring, customer service, hygiene standards, tool handling and the basics of business communication, with fade and skin fade specifically named. A guaranteed practical placement is included, teaching runs on a mentorship model, and graduates are placed within an associated barbershop franchise network, a real advantage if you want a job at the end rather than just a certificate. One point to press them on: the school states that the state-recognised qualification is issued through partner organisations rather than by itself, and it publishes no adult-training registration number of its own. Ask which partner, and what document you actually receive.

On Hungarian credentials: adult-training institutions must hold a felnőttképzési nyilvántartási szám, and the strongest providers also hold a full engedély letting them deliver programmes towards a state szakképesítő examination. A registration number covers the institution, not necessarily the individual course. Ask specifically whether the barbering course you are buying leads to a state qualification or to the school’s own oklevél.
