Glasgow Kelvin College – Barbering SCQF 5

Glasgow Kelvin College delivers the Certificate in Barbering under the MADE programme, a City and Guilds qualification at SCQF Level 5, from its Springburn campus, with a variant also delivered in Falkirk. It is a full-time short course running 18 weeks at four days a week.

Entry is from age 16 with no prior experience required, and a barbering kit is provided. Teaching takes place in a commercial barbershop environment working with real clients, and content covers cutting technique, facial hair design, client consultation and social media marketing. Progression is to Level 3 qualifications or straight into employment. Fees are not published on the course pages. Demand is exceptional, the college reported the August intake closing to further applications on the first day applications opened, so if you are interested, watch for the January-start intake and apply the moment it opens rather than waiting.
