Hairfellas School of Barbers

Hairfellas School of Barbers is run from the HairFellas barbershop on Wellington Street West in Ottawa. It offers a barbering course of three months, timetabled on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The course opens with about two weeks of theory at roughly 12 hours a week, then moves to demonstration and hands-on training at about 24 hours a week. Students finish with a barbering certificate issued by the school. The school states that no licence or set hour total is required, and it does not present the course as registered training toward the Ontario hairstylist apprenticeship or as a vocational programme approved under the Career Colleges Act, so it is best understood as private short-course training delivered in a working barbershop. Tools are purchased separately and payment plans are available.
