HEART College of Beauty Services, Kingston

This is Jamaica’s national training agency delivering barbering directly, and it is the strongest credential in the Caribbean listings. HEART/NSTA Trust is the state agency; its qualifications are NVQ-J, certified through NCTVET, a genuine national vocational qualification rather than a private certificate.

The college teaches from Hope Road in Kingston and offers barbering at Level 3, operating a working training salon on site where students practise on real clients. The agency has reported certifying cohorts in the hundreds across its beauty programmes.

Two practical notes. Specific course durations, intake dates and fees could not be read because the agency’s own sites have a certificate problem that blocks automated access, so confirm those directly by phone. And this listing previously pointed at a Facebook page. The college’s official institutional site is the link here. As national agency provision, expect fees to be low or subsidised relative to private academies, which is worth establishing first.
