iPED – Curso de Barbeiro Profissional

iPED is a São Paulo-based distance-learning company that has operated since 2002, and its Curso de Barbeiro Profissional is an 80-hour video course delivered entirely online. It is listed here for completeness, but be clear about what it is: 39 lessons across three chapters, with no practical component whatsoever and no supervised work on models or mannequins.

The first chapter covers the market, hair structure, hygiene, tools and basic technique; the second covers cutting techniques and styles; the third covers brushing, shaving and beard design. The price is R$79.90 as a one-off payment, or five instalments of R$15.98, with an unlimited-catalogue subscription available at twelve payments of R$29.90 a month. A digital certificate is included. At that price it is a reasonable way to cover theory before or alongside hands-on training, but barbering is a manual trade and no video course can substitute for supervised practice, treat this as a supplement to in-person training rather than a route into the profession on its own.
