Irish Barber College
Irish Barber College is a private barber training academy at Unit 3, 30/31 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, founded in 2019 by Ryan Hatfield, a barber of over twenty years who studied traditional techniques in the United States and teaches on the courses himself. Training takes place in a working barbershop rather than on mannequins, with classes capped at three students.
The main Barber Training Programme runs for twelve weeks and involves daily work on real paying clients, with students completing more than 100 haircuts and covering client consultation, scissor control, fade consistency and shop workflow. Shorter options include a traditional shaving course covering blade handling, skin preparation, shaving technique and razor care, aimed at working barbers, and a barbering course for hairdressers focused on fades, scissor-over-comb and clipper work. The college states that it is a private academy without formal accreditation.
