Kildare School of Barbering

Kildare School of Barbering operates from Station Road in Kildare Town and is run in connection with Roches Barbers. Its main programme is a VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Barbering, taught over 14 weeks on Monday evenings from 6.45pm to 10.30pm. Learners are assessed by centre staff through written and practical work, including eight haircut assessments and four facial hair assessments, and a tool kit is included. Students are asked to bring at least two models a week.

Shorter options sit alongside it. An Introduction to Barbering runs for six weeks on Tuesday evenings and leads to a certificate of attendance rather than a formal award, which suits complete beginners. A one-day Modern Barbering class is aimed at hairdressers moving into barbering or returning to the trade, and there are also one-day hot towel shave and short hair tattoo design sessions.
