Knight's School of Barbering

Knights School of Barbering is the training arm of Knights Barbers and is based at 81 Grafton Street in Dublin 2. Its Introduction to Barbering course is offered full-time over six weeks, running Monday to Thursday from 10am to 4pm, or part-time over 15 weeks on Monday and Tuesday evenings. There are no entry requirements, and equipment is provided on the full-time option.

The course covers health and safety, shampooing, customer service and client consultation, cutting with scissors and thinning scissors, clipper and razor work, blending, texturising, styling, finishing and beard trimming. Learners can work towards the VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Barbering, which the school equates to a Level 4 award on the Irish framework. Two further options are listed: an advanced or refresher course aimed at those with ladies’ hairdressing experience moving into gents’ cutting, and a shaving school covering the hot towel shave.
