Learning Curve Group – Level 2 Certificate in Barbering

Learning Curve Group’s Level 2 Certificate in Barbering is an in-person academy course delivered in a working salon environment rather than a classroom, running for 26 to 32 weeks. It is designed to prepare learners for work as junior barbers and unisex hairdressers in the men’s hairdressing industry. Units cover client consultation for hair services, shampooing, conditioning and scalp treatment, cutting men’s hair, shaping facial hair, creating outlines, drying and finishing hair, assisting with shaving services, salon reception duties and professional development.

Applicants must be at least 16 and to have lived in the UK or EU for the previous three years, depending on immigration status, with successful candidates invited to interview at one of the academies. A bursary is offered to eligible 16 to 19 year olds. Sheffield is one of the academy locations listed for the course, alongside sites including Leeds, Manchester, Derby and three in London.
