Lintons Academy – Certificate in Barbering, Nairobi

A country correction, and a significant one: Lintons Academy is Kenyan, not Nigerian as older directory data recorded. It teaches from Kenrail Towers in Westlands, Nairobi, with a second campus at SBS Mall in Mombasa.

The Certificate in Barbering runs two months, covering the fundamentals of barbering and sanitation, clipper and scissor techniques, beard shaping and finishing, client consultation and styling, product knowledge and aftercare, and business basics for barbers. Teaching takes place in what the academy calls a L’Oréal standard training environment, and it states it is the only L’Oréal hair school in Africa, a brand partnership rather than an accreditation, but a meaningful one in a market where product training is scarce. A six-month Diploma in Hairdressing with an internship runs alongside.

On credentials: the certificate is the academy’s own, with the L’Oréal partnership attached. No TVETA registration or NITA grade test is claimed, and in Kenya those are the credentials that carry weight with employers, so ask if that matters to you. Fees are not published.
