MC Akademi – Erkek Kuaförlük (Berberlik) Kursu, Istanbul

MC Akademi runs an 840-hour Level 4 men’s hairdressing and barbering programme from branches across Istanbul, with its head branch in Mecidiyeköy and further sites in Osmanbey, Bakırköy, Maltepe and Gaziosmanpaşa, plus a branch in Ankara. Its legal identity is Mircan Akademi, which is the name under which it appears in the Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı register of licensed private institutions, two registry entries match its Şişli branch addresses, which is real independent confirmation that it is a licensed provider.

The course covers occupational introduction and workplace organisation, personal hygiene, client preparation, hair and skin analysis, face and head shape assessment, beard and moustache shaping, men’s cutting, hair and beard shaving, head and face massage, product sales and professional development, with supporting subjects in anatomy and physiology, professional ethics, colour theory, entrepreneurship, salon management and workplace safety. The academy claims ITEC accreditation from the UK alongside its MEB certificate. No price is published on its own site. One note on the registry: the licences found are for beauty, cosmetics and hairdressing courses, and no line naming berberlik specifically was located.

One point applies across every Turkish provider in this directory and is worth understanding before you pay for anything. Turkey does regulate this trade: the Mesleki Yeterlilik Kurumu issues the Erkek Berberi Seviye 4 national vocational qualification, and that is the document that carries legal weight. It is a different thing from a MEB Seviye 4 kurs bitirme belgesi, which is a course completion certificate issued by a licensed private training centre. Several academies advertise “Seviye 4” in a way that blurs the two. If your goal is the MYK belge, ask specifically which authorised belgelendirme kuruluşu examines you and when.
