Melbourne College of Hair and Beauty

Melbourne College of Hair and Beauty is a privately owned registered training organisation, RTO 21943 and CRICOS provider 02886G, based at The District Docklands in Melbourne. The college states it has operated since 1962 and delivers nationally recognised hairdressing, beauty therapy, make-up and business qualifications alongside SHB30516 Certificate III in Barbering.

The barbering program is delivered on campus and is made up of 27 units covering hygiene and infection control, salon operations, client consultation and communication, hair and scalp treatment, haircutting techniques, beard and face services, and retail and stock handling. Applicants must be at least 18 and have completed Year 11 or an equivalent qualification, or hold relevant industry experience; language, literacy and numeracy levels are assessed as part of entry. Students gain practical experience in the college’s public-facing salons, and the college also enrols international students on appropriate visas.
