Men's Grooming Ireland
Men’s Grooming Ireland runs short barbering courses in Dublin, teaching in groups of no more than four students with an emphasis on one-to-one practical instruction. Its beginners’ course requires no previous experience and runs two mornings a week for six weeks, with students working on mannequins for the first four weeks before moving to live models. It covers clipper fading and tapering, blending, scissor work, beard trimming, styling and finishing, product knowledge, consultation, tool selection and health and safety.
Three further courses are aimed at those with at least a year’s experience: a freestyle haircuts course, an advanced barbering course including cut-throat razor work, and a dedicated cut-throat razor shaving course covering hot towels, line-ups and beard trimming. Courses lead to a Men’s Grooming Ireland certificate rather than an external award, and equipment is provided for those starting out.
