Műhely Akadémia is a registered adult-training institution, number B/2024/000831, teaching barbering in Budapest at Rozsnyai utca alongside its main site in Székesfehérvár and a further venue in Miskolc. It publishes a dated intake calendar, with October starts across all its cities.

Two barbering routes run. A twelve-month programme costs 1,800,000 forint, or 1,500,000 paid in full, structured as a 300,000 registration plus 150,000 a month with a 60,000 exam fee, and requires basic schooling plus medical fitness. A shorter four-month course runs two half-days a week at 600,000 forint in total. Content covers the theory of men’s cutting, beard shaping and shaving both classical and modern, practical work on live models, modern tooling and current trends, with a personal instructor and career preparation.

The academy deserves credit for being unusually straight about what its barbering award is and is not: it states plainly that the barbering courses issue its own oklevél and do not confer the right to start a business. Its separate twelve-month state Fodrász qualification is the recognised one, that programme is free, carries a monthly stipend under Hungarian vocational training law, and is open to barbering graduates who hold a secondary school leaving certificate. If you want the state credential, that is the route to ask about.

On Hungarian credentials: adult-training institutions must hold a felnőttképzési nyilvántartási szám, and the strongest providers also hold a full engedély letting them deliver programmes towards a state szakképesítő examination. A registration number covers the institution, not necessarily the individual course. Ask specifically whether the barbering course you are buying leads to a state qualification or to the school’s own oklevél.
