New England Hair Academy

New England Hair Academy is located on Main Street in Malden, Massachusetts. Its published catalog lists a Barber Styling program of 1,000 clock hours, with major course components including 400 hours of hair cutting and styling, 165 hours of theory and 90 hours of permanent waving. The school also offers a 1,000-hour cosmetology program and a 100-hour manicuring program. Licensure is through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration of Cosmetology and Barbering.

The academy is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. Barbering and cosmetology are scheduled in three formats: an accelerated track Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.; a full-time track Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.; and an evening part-time track Monday through Thursday, 5.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Veterans’ education benefits are approved through the Massachusetts State Approving Agency.
