NIE Technical College – Barbering & Head Massage, Ruiru

A location correction: NIE Technical College is in Ruiru, Kiambu County, not Nairobi as older directory data recorded, still within the greater Nairobi area but a separate town.

Its Certificate in Barbering and Head Massage runs two months across six areas: an introduction to barbering, men’s haircuts, hair design and styling, head massage techniques, client consultation and communication, and barbershop management. Pairing barbering with head massage is a sensible commercial combination in the Kenyan market, where massage is a standard paid add-on rather than a courtesy.

The college also runs diplomas and certificates in hairdressing, beauty therapy and cosmetology plus short courses of one to three months. No TVETA registration or NITA grade test is evidenced, so the award is the college’s own. Fees are not published, and the site offers only a chat widget for contact, so expect to enquire online rather than by phone.
