Northwest College School of Beauty - Medford
The Medford campus of Northwest College School of Beauty is on Tower East in Medford, Oregon, one of four campuses the college operates in the state alongside Beaverton, Springfield and Tualatin. The Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission list of licensed cosmetology schools includes all four campuses and shows barbering among the courses each is approved to teach. The college is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences.
The barbering program requires 946 hours and can be completed in as little as eight months, with day and evening scheduling available. Coursework covers haircutting, thermal styling, shaving and beard design, men’s skin care, sanitation, business topics, and Oregon rules and laws, along with supervised clinic work on clients. The roughly 6,900-square-foot Medford campus has two classrooms with computerized testing used for state board exam preparation. Hair design, nail technology, esthetics and teacher training are also taught there.
