Riggins Urban Barber and Beauty College

Riggins Urban Barber and Beauty College operates two San Diego campuses, one on Euclid Avenue and one on Palm Avenue in the South Bay. Barbering is offered in 1,000-hour and 1,500-hour formats, alongside cosmetology, hairstyling, esthetics, manicuring and a barber and cosmetology crossover course. Programs prepare graduates to sit for California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology licensing examinations, and students provide low-cost services to the public in supervised student clinics.

The college is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences and participates in federal Title IV financial aid and veterans’ education benefits. Its 2024 report to the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education listed 74 enrolled students and an 81.82 percent state barber exam pass rate for the barber course, with on-time completion rates of 33 percent and 17 percent for its two barbering programs.
