Servilles Academy

Servilles Academy on Canada Street in central Auckland is a long-established NZQA-registered academy, and its barbering programme leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Commercial Barbering at Level 4. It publishes exact cohort dates and fees, which makes planning straightforward.

The course runs 34 weeks, Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 4:15pm, with one day a week set aside for self-directed study. Domestic students pay $9,490 in total, made up of $8,490 in course fees and $1,000 for equipment; international students pay $18,500 including the kit. Content covers clipper technique, scissor work, beard design, cut-throat shaving and barbering theory, alongside client consultation and portfolio development, with hands-on work on real clients throughout. The current cohort runs from July 2026 into April 2027, so check when the next intake opens rather than assuming rolling entry.
