Stasi Barbers Training Academy

Stasi Barbers runs its training academy from a working barbershop in Archway, north London, so students practise on real customers in a shop environment rather than a college salon; haircuts by student barbers are offered free to the public. Courses are aimed at beginners with no previous experience, and the academy lists several lengths, including a one-month course and eight-week and twelve-week beginner programmes.

Teaching covers practical cutting such as fades, patterns and scissor work, along with styling, facial grooming and theory including health and safety. The academy describes its beginner training in relation to NVQ Level 2 barbering and issues its own Stasi Barber and Academy diploma on completion. A full barber kit is included in the course, with a reduction for students who supply their own tools, and the site states that classes are capped at four to five students at a time.
