Sultans of Shave – Diploma in Barbering, Singapore

Sultans of Shave is an established Singapore barbershop group with outlets on Orchard Road and Circular Road, and its barbering programme is structured quite differently from the short courses that dominate this market.

The Diploma in Barbering runs around ten weeks: two weeks of personalised one-to-one training with working barbers, followed by eight weeks of portfolio development. Training is on real clients throughout rather than on mannequins, which at this length means a genuine volume of paid-standard work rather than a demonstration course. Graduates get access to the group’s barbershop network for placement.

Two things to note. No price is published, so enrolment starts with an enquiry. And the diploma is an in-house award with no WSQ or SkillsFuture accreditation, so it will not attract funding, judge it on the ten weeks of supervised client work, which is the real product here.
