Texas Barber College (now Career Schools of Texas)

Texas Barber College now operates as Career Schools of Texas. Its barbering program consists of 1,000 clock hours and prepares students for the Texas licensing examination. In Houston the barbering campus is on South Gessner Road, with a corporate office on the North Freeway; the organization also runs campuses in Dallas on Lancaster Road and Ferguson Road.

The barber program at all campuses is licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which regulates barbering in the state. The institution is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education. Alongside barbering it offers an HVAC-R technician program, which is approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission rather than the licensing department. The former txbarber.edu web address now points to the Career Schools of Texas site, so listings under the older name refer to the same institution.
