The Barbering School of Wales

The Barbering School of Wales occupies the second floor of a building on St Mary Street in central Cardiff and is an independently confirmed VTCT approved centre, it appears on the VTCT provider register with barbering NVQs at both Level 2 and Level 3, which is external confirmation rather than a marketing claim.

The main offering is a 12-week full-time NVQ Level 2 Barbering course for beginners, running Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00, with morning and afternoon session options also quoted. The school states students complete 150 to 200 live haircuts during the course, work on real clients from week three, and are supplied with models, with teaching covering skin fading, beard work, razor and traditional wet shaving. Start dates are published well ahead, running from mid-2026 into early 2028, which makes forward planning easy. An advanced course runs for experienced barbers. Fees are not published: a ten per cent deposit secures a place, with interest-free plans over three to nine months and third-party finance available. One note on the site itself, an older page still advertises 2024 intakes and describes the 12-week course as a year, so work from the current beginner course page rather than that one.
