The Grafton Barber School of Excellence
The Grafton Barber’s School of Excellence trains barbers from 55 South King Street in Dublin 2, and is run by the Grafton Barber chain, established in 1993. Its main programme is a full-time VTCT Level 2 course lasting twelve weeks, taught four days a week from Tuesday to Friday and followed by six weeks of work experience in one of the group’s shops, which can lead to employment. It covers health and safety, client consultation, cutting men’s hair and facial hair, using clippers, scissors, tapering and blending, and the fee includes equipment, VTCT registration and exam administration.
A part-time VTCT Level 3 course, described as equivalent to Level 5 on the National Framework, is aimed at those already working in barbering or hairdressing; it covers advanced cutting, texturising, cut-throat razor work and hot towel shaving.
